In 1997, Khorasan Kaolin Company established a kaolin processing plant in Torbat-e-Heydarieh city, located in Razavi Khorasan province, with the aim of producing processed kaolin using the latest technology, technical knowledge and machines made by AKW Company in Germany. This factory was started its operation with a nominal annual capacity of 20,000 tons, and thereafter due to the wide acceptance of the manufacturers of ceramic tiles, sanitary ware, paints and glazes, tableware, etc., with the development of machinery, it increased its production capacity to 40,000 tons and was able to become one of the most important factories of processed kaolin production in Iran.
Also, Khorasan kaolin has taken over “KASPID” processing plant, and it has led to an increase in the capacity of processed kaolin to more than 100 thousand tons per year along with a greater variety of products.
The Company has rich mines of Industrial Clay, different types of Feldspar and Kaolin, which are widely used in raw form for consumers, especially in the tile and glaze industry. Also, the needed raw materials are supplying from the mines belonging to the company itself.
